Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, store and protect your personal data. Effective 29 October 2026.
Careers Expert Group Pty Ltd, trading as Careers Expert Group ("we", "us", "our"), is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. It explains how we handle your personal data in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL), and applies to this website and to the services we provide in the United Arab Emirates.
1. The information we collect
The personal information we collect depends on how you deal with us. It may include:
- Contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number and location.
- Career information, such as your CV, LinkedIn profile, employment history, qualifications, achievements, the roles, sectors and locations you are targeting, organisations you would prefer we avoid, and referees you choose to give us.
- Information you share in consultations, coaching sessions, emails and messages, and the notes we keep of them.
- Booking and payment details. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details.
- Website information, such as pages visited, device and browser details and how you arrived on our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
We do not ask for sensitive personal data, such as information about your health, racial or ethnic origin or religious beliefs, or for information about criminal records. If a document you send us contains it, we will only use it as needed to provide the service you asked for.
2. How we collect it
We collect most information directly from you: when you complete a form or upload your CV on our website, book a consultation, speak with us by phone or video, or email us. We may also collect information from someone else with your knowledge, for example an employer who arranges outplacement support for you, or from publicly available sources such as your public LinkedIn profile.
You can deal with us without giving your name for general enquiries, but we cannot assess your CV or provide our services without identifying you.
3. How we use it
We process your personal data with your consent, or where the law allows us to without it, such as to perform our contract with you or take steps you ask for before entering one, or to comply with our legal obligations. We use your personal data to:
- respond to your enquiry and prepare your free CV assessment;
- arrange and run your consultation and deliver the programme or service you choose, including your CV, LinkedIn profile, positioning, interview coaching and transition support;
- research the market for roles and opportunities relevant to you, and prepare approaches for you to review;
- communicate with you by email, phone or text message about your enquiry or service, including reminders and follow-ups;
- process payments, keep records and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations;
- improve our services and website, and measure how our advertising performs; and
- send you career insights and offers, where the law allows and you have not opted out.
We will never approach a search firm, employer, board or recruiter on your behalf, or share your CV with them, without your agreement.
4. Use of AI tools
We use software tools, including artificial intelligence services provided by Anthropic, to help us review CVs and prepare first drafts of assessments, documents and research. Our team reviews this work before it is sent to you, and the decisions about your service are made by people. Our AI providers process your information on our behalf under terms that do not permit them to use it to train their models.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services, with:
- service providers who support our business, including website hosting, online booking, email, text messaging, video meetings, cloud hosting, customer records, payment processing and AI services. They may only use your information to provide their service to us;
- other offices of Careers Expert Group, where they help deliver your service;
- search firms, employers, boards or recruiters, only with your agreement;
- our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers; and
- government agencies or others where the law requires or permits it.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers process personal data outside the UAE, and Careers Expert Group has offices and team members in other countries. Where we transfer your personal data outside the UAE, we do so only as the PDPL allows, for example to countries with adequate data protection laws, under contractual safeguards, or with your consent.
7. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies that are needed for it to work. Where we use cookies to understand how the site is used or to measure our advertising, including tools provided by Google and LinkedIn, we ask for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings and manage ad personalisation through your Google and LinkedIn account settings.
8. Marketing
We may send you career insights, updates and offers by email where you have agreed to receive them, or where you have enquired about or used our services and have not opted out. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by contacting us. We will still send messages you need about a service you have booked.
9. Security and retention
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, use, alteration or disclosure, including access controls and secure, encrypted services. We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it to provide our services and meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations, then securely delete or anonymise it. If a personal data breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will report it to the UAE Data Office as the PDPL requires and, where the risk is high, tell you directly.
10. Your rights
Under the PDPL you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, stop using it (including for direct marketing), or transfer it to you or another organisation. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days, and we will explain if the law lets us keep certain records.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the UAE Data Office.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the date it took effect.
